The single parent project is a forum for single parents to
vent their hardships during the covid-19 pandemic and get assistance from the
public on what kind of support they’ll need most. As a person who was once a
single mom, I fully understand the struggles of being the sole income provider
of your household and making the hard decisions of sacrificing skipping meals
so that your kid/s can have a meal for not just today but tomorrow and the day
after on your limited income. Understanding personally how frustrating it can
be having an inadequate food supply and to ration meals knowing that it was not
sufficient for your kid/s is very heartbreaking. So, with this knowledge birthed
the Single Parent Project. There are many non for profits that are existing to
provide aid for parents in this similar situation and some of these
organizations will be listed on this platform, but I wanted to take it “to the
streets”. I wanted to give the opportunity for other parents who feel the way I
do, to provide support in their own way. My goal is to be able to connect these
individuals to single parents and assist them in any way that they can. Whether
the assistance is in the form of providing financial or monetary assistance,
emotional assistance, food assistance, career assistance and much more. I truly
believe that we all have the resources needed to help each other and I would
like to bridge the gap.
